Hello (to the Chicago TV airwaves), Newman!

With less than two months until the March 20 major-party primary elections in Illinois, Marie Newman, who is seeking the Democratic nomination in the Chicago-area 3rd Congressional District of Illinois, is making it completely clear why she's running against incumbent U.S. Representative Dan Lipinski.

As many of my blog's readers already know, Dan Lipinski is one of the most right-wing members of the U.S. House Democratic Caucus, having voted against expanding health care access for millions of Americans, co-sponsored unconstitutional legislation to restrict the right of women to make their own health care decisions, has opposed LGBT rights, voted against the pro-immigration DREAM Act, and has voted with fascist Republican President Donald Trump over one-third of the time. Lipinski's voting record is so awful, two of Lipinski's colleagues, Jan Schakowsky and Luis GutiƩrrez, have endorsed Newman's campaign against Lipinski.

Marie Newman, on the other hand, the real fighter for Democratic and progressive values in the Democratic primary in the 3rd District of Illinois. When it comes to a woman's right to make her her own health decisions, Newman is unapologetically pro-choice. When it comes to health care, Newman believes that access to affordable health care should be a right of every American, not something that only the wealthy can afford. When it comes to issues that affect working-class Americans, Newman is for paid family leave and livable wages. When it comes to immigration, Newman understands that America is a nation of immigrants, and she opposes President Trump's anti-immigration policies. When it comes to LGBT rights, Newman is a supporter of equality and tolerance, and she believes that business owners shouldn't be allowed to discriminate against the LGBT community.

I live in a different part of Illinois, but I strongly encourage voters in the 3rd Congressional District of Illinois to request a Democratic primary ballot and vote for Marie Newman on March 20! The 3rd Congressional District of Illinois (map here) includes parts of Cook and Will counties.
